The vibrancy and success of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School depends upon the many individuals and groups who so generously commit their talents and resources to promote the mission of the school. The Board of Directors of an SND sponsored school consists of men and women of varied backgrounds who understand the mission of the school and that of the Sisters of Notre Dame and who are willing to commit themselves to advancing those missions. They exercise all the powers of the corporation except those reserved to the Board of Members and manage the corporation’s affairs. Their specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting and fulfilling the mission of the school as a Catholic school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame.
- Formulating and enacting policies governing the school in accord with its mission
- Developing and adopting a strategic plan for the school
- Overseeing the finances of the school including the annual operating and capital budgets, investments and advancement efforts
- Selecting the Chief Executive Officer, evaluating his or her performance and removing the CEO with approval of the Board of Members
- Keeping the Members informed of the status of the school through an annual report
