Message from the President

Summer, 2017

Dear Families, Alumni and Friends:

Last month, my family and I were en route to our new home, our new friends and colleagues, and to the next chapter in our life.

On our journey across the country we were blessed to rediscover the majesty of mountains, rivers, lakes, and geysers in some of our national parks and to reaffirm that we truly live in a wonderful country, full of open-hearted, welcoming people. Wanting to see as much of this beautiful and diverse country as possible, our excursion was planned with care and intention. Of course, we learned what one who makes plans often learns: sometimes we are taken off course and must adapt and transition to an unexpected turn of events. For the Bates family, we also learned that when met with an open mind and heart, there is joy and discovery in the diversions.

I am tremendously grateful to be a part of this vibrant community. Our faculty and staff are clearly intent on providing the best in 21st century Catholic education. Our students are living examples of the transformational education our Notre Dame Schools provide. In my role as President, I know that what is accomplished on our campus is made possible by the confidence and support of our families, alumni and friends. Again, I am deeply appreciative for the blessings of all those who believe in our missions and vision.

Upon my arrival on campus, I was greeted by the summer staff of Notre Dame Elementary and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Schools. Their warm welcome assures me that this community has the same spirit of openness and kindness that make for wonderful journeys. I look with hope to a fruitful and collegial year of transition. Even more, I look forward to meeting and knowing you. I am confident that together we will continue to give life to the vision of Notre Dame Schools.

May the blessings of our good and provident God be with you.

Sincerely,

Michael Bates, Ed.D.
President
