Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School provides opportunities for each student to deepen his/her relationship with Christ and with other members of the Christian community. Campus Ministry, together with the faculty and students, plans and coordinates the religious ceremonies, celebrations of the liturgical seasons, and grade level retreats. Priests from local parishes are invited to celebrate liturgies and the sacrament of reconciliation.   As members of a Catholic school community, all students participate in religion classes, school liturgies and four-year retreat and service programs. NDCL’s religion program stresses concern for the individual, service to the community and caring for others. The service program is designed to broaden student’s views and sensitize them to the needs of the human community. It is through the hours spent giving service   that students share in the church’s ministry of working for justice and peace.

Service Program Requirements

20 hours - freshman and sophomore year in the school, church and community

20 hours - junior and senior year in the church and community

GENERAL INFORMATION

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School is a Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory high school. The academic curriculum is focused on preparing students for college. Statistics indicate that 99% of NDCL students go on to college. Because of the number of academically talented students at NDCL, the following guidelines for course selection are very important.

Selective colleges may also have additional requirements such as four years of mathematics and three or four years of a modern language. Students who plan to attend a particular college are urged to obtain the competitive entrance requirements and discuss these with their guidance counselor. This should be done in the sophmore and junior year so that students may plan their program accordingly.

The State of Ohio awards a Diploma with Honors to students who fulfill all but one of the following criteria (class of 2011 and beyond):

4 Units in Englsih
4 Units in Math
4 Units in Science
4 Units in Social Studies
3 Units in Foreign Language
