Service Opportunities

DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF A MIRACLE IN PROGRESS? Are you fun loving and you would like to be a part of an amazing and rewarding experience? Are you looking for something exciting to do with your spare time? Do you need volunteer service hours? I would like to invite you to be a part of our exciting and energetic in-home program for our special child. This approach combines a non-judgmental attitude with an intense effort to engage and motivate our son to reach his full potential. Our son, Max, is 8 years old and has autism. We need people like you to be a part of our Son-Rise program based on learning through play, using a different approach to Autism for our son.
Qualifications:

  • Energy, Excitement and Enthusiasm!
  • No experience necessary – We will provide training an ongoing feedback!
  • Looking for an opportunity to enrich your life and that of a very special child!

*YPS Annual Workshop Registration is now open for the YPS (Youth Philanthropy and Service Workshop) 14th Annual Workshop. Groups of 5 or more (adults and/or K-12 youth) receive a discount. New this year - online registration with payment options of credit card, purchase order, or check!   

We are also seeking affiliates and exhibitors.  Affiliates of the YPS Annual Workshop provide non-financial support by communicating information about the Annual Workshop to their constituents.  Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to share their volunteer opportunities and educator resources with attendees by exhibiting at the Annual Workshop. The submission deadline for both affiliates and exhibitors is January 15. For more information go to the REC

IRTF: InterReligious Task Force on Central America, Cleveland OH 
-flexible schedule according to student’s needs, academic requirements. High school and college students welcome. Students choose their focus: economic justice, anti-repression, other. Internships range 2-15 weeks, 8-40 hours per week. For more information please stop by the REC

S!Paz  
is looking for recent college graduates to serve as long-term team members (one-year minimum) willing to live and work in Chiapas, specifically in the areas of human rights observation and information.  S!Paz promotes international solidarity in seeking peaceful solutions to conflicts in Chiapas, Guerrero and Oaxaca. For more information please click here or you can email them at volcom@sipaz.org.

CIS-El Salvador 
Volunteer to teach English (while studying Spanish) at the Melida Anaya Montes Language School in San Salvador. Using popular-education methodology, our school incorporates language learning with core themes related to the social justice movement. Volunteers who commit to teaching English for nine weeks receive a 50% discount on classes at our Spanish School, as long as there is one other person in their class. Program highlights include: homestays with Salvadoran families, training/orientation, 2 weeks of our political-cultural program help orient you to El Salvador, long-term and rural volunteer placements are also available.
