Doesn’t tuition pay for the expenses? Not quite. In order for NDCL to make Catholic education affordable, the Board of Directors approves a reasonable tuition that best serves our families while meeting a high percentage of the operating budget. The difference between tuition and the cost of educating each student is approximately $1,200. To make up this difference, NDCL depends on four additional sources of income for operations: donations to the NDCL Fund; interest from endowment; limited government funding; and proceeds from special events: The Lion’s Mane Event and the NDCL Golf Classic.

What is the NDCL Fund? The NDCL Fund is the annual giving campaign used to fund scholarships for NDCL students. Most private secondary schools and institutions of higher education have an annual fund appeal that relies on the generous support of donors.

How does the NDCL Fund differ from the Capital Campaign? The NDCL Fund is designated for scholarships and allows all students to share fully in the NDCL experience. The Capital Campaign gifts are used exclusively for priorities identified for NDCL’s Capital Campaign, Igniting a Spirit of Community & Faith, and fund long-range capital needs and facility planning.

How can my gift be maximized? If available, the HR Department of your company can tell you how to participate in your company’s matching gift program. Also, donations to NDCL’s Capital Campaign can be tripled thanks to the NDCL’s Challenge Grant award. What should I give? Think of it this way: Can you put aside $2 a week to support NDCL’s mission to "prepare leaders who transform the world by doing the truth in love”? One less stop at the local coffee house per week will provide a $100 annual gift to the NDCL Fund or the Capital Campaign. A small sacrifice on your part, combined with the gifts of others, will provide the NDCL experience to many young people. It also provides you with a tax deduction.
