The Maumee Bay Turf Center/UBU crew has been working steadily, despite the heat, to meet project deadlines. The photo gallery gives a sense of the detail involved in installing the synthetic turf, cutting hash marks, distributing infill of rubber and sand on the turf and then raking it. The solid blue end zones have been transformed with the white-outlined gold words LIONS and NDCL.
This past week the first preliminary inspection of the field took place. Significant project work remains in the weeks ahead : retaining walls, rubber track surface, paving and grading at the entry, drains on sides of the track, asphalt infill round the track, install goal posts, pole vault work, the entry grading, fencing and other work.
