Over the summer months, we will be planning half-time shows, writing drill, and arranging new tunes! All of the sheet music we ordered after our listening session at the end of May has arrived at NDCL. If you are looking to get a head start on practicing, come and pick up your music! In addition, we are always looking for good song ideas, dance moves, and creative marching routines. If you have an idea for a shorty, quarter tune, band dance, or just want to do something to help, please feel free to reach out to any of the marching band directors or drum majors!
Band activities will officially resume with drumline and color guard rehearsals on Monday, July 23. Drumline and color guard rehearsals will run in the afternoons from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. We will have our first full band rehearsal on Friday, July 27 at 4:00 PM, followed by our annual “step-off” party at 6:30. All students and parents are encouraged to join us for the party for both a great meal and details about the upcoming season. Band camp will begin the following Monday, July 30. We will run for two weeks from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, at NDCL. Our band camp will culminate with a special performance for family and friends in Lion's Stadium on Friday, August 10 at 6:00 PM. See you soon!
Attention incoming freshman: Do you want to join a good band that plays music you know and performs often? Do you want to improve at your instrument quickly by working on interesting and challenging music? Do you want to make new friends before the school year even starts? If yes, we want you in the NDCL Lion Marching Band!
The NDCL Lion Marching Band is a big step up from the average middle school band. We perform every week in September and August, participate in the Cleveland St. Patrick's Day parade every year, and perform in Disney World every two years (good news - this year is a Disney year!) We also accept musicians of all skill levels, from those who have taken private lessons their whole lives to those who are interested in picking up an instrument for the first time. If you are interested in joining the band or just want to know more, contact band director, Mr. Adam Pysell, at email@example.com and put "Marching Band" in the subject line. We hope to hear from you soon!
