Senior Justin Satterlee named 2020 National Merit finalist

Senior Justin Satterlee has been named a National Merit finalist in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship competition.

Less than one percent of the more than 1.6 million students who entered the National Merit competition qualify as finalists. Justin is now eligible to compete for National Merit Scholarships totaling more than $31 million to be awarded later this spring.

"The National Merit finalist designation is truly one of the most prestigious academic honors a high school senior can achieve," commented Principal Mr. Joseph A. Waler.

"All of us at NDCL are so proud of Justin, especially because we know his status as a National Merit finalist is just the first glimpse of achievements that are sure to follow. We look forward to the great things he will accomplish in college, career, and life," Mr. Waler added.

Earlier this year, Justin qualified as a National Merit semi-finalist by scoring exceptionally well on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as a junior. To earn finalist status, he submitted a successful application detailing his academic records, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities, honors, and awards.
