Students win top awards in statewide Future Business Leaders competition

In their very first attempt at statewide competition, members of NDCL's chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) walked away with four first-place awards and one second-place finish during the FBLA Leadership Conference at The Ohio State University on March 15-16.

Senior Dan Bosworth took first place in the accounting contest. Dan and classmates Eddie and Danny Zucker earned the first-place medal in sports and entertainment management. 
   
Junior Maddy Cipolla snagged the first-place award in hospitality management. In the help desk competition, Danny Zucker took first place and Eddie Zucker took second.
   
Other awards included Dan Bosworth, Danny Zucker, and Gabby Conforte, fifth place in the Battle of the Chapters; senior Alex Bumpus, seventh place in graphic design; Dan Bosworth, eighth place in interviewing; and Alex Bumpus and Eddie Zucker, eighth place in spelling.
   
More than 450 students from 38 high schools participated in this year's conference, which included a series of competitive events as well as workshops and seminars on business-related topics.
