Six students land Cleveland Clinic internships

The Cleveland Clinic's Office of Civic Education Initiatives has selected six NDCL students for the Clinic's prestigious and highly competitive summer internship program—our highest number of interns since 2012.
  
Congratulations to sophomore Grace Stauffer and junior Julia Baitt, nursing interns; junior John Burwinkel, respiratory care intern; junior Kevin McGinty, creative learning intern; and senior Alexis Hammer, public health intern. This will be Alexis' second Clinic internship.

Senior Michelle King will return to the Clinic for her third consecutive summer. As a veteran of the program, she will take a leadership role as a mentor for new interns.

The Cleveland Clinic Civic Education Department's clinic-based programs give northeast Ohio middle and high school students the opportunity to learn and work alongside world-renowned caregivers at the Clinic's Main Campus, regional hospitals, and family health centers. Through their experiences in these programs, students connect with healthcare fields and careers, develop their 21st century skill-set through hands-on learning opportunities, and discover real-world applications for their academic knowledge.
