Wings 2018 takes flight this weekend

Students will move into the director's chair this weekend as the Performing Arts Department presents Wings 2018, our annual production of student-directed one-act plays.

Senior Zach Smith with the assistance of junior Carter Callender will direct Kamron Klitgaard's Cheating Death, a comic fantasy that takes the Angel of Death to a mental institution, where he accidentally reveals himself to the wrong person and then tries to correct his mistake as the patients protect each other from his fatal touch. Cheating Death is presented through special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service.

Senior Briana Cowman will serve as director and classmate Jacqueline Clinger as assistant director for That's Not How I Remember It. In this delightful comedy by Don Zolidis, two parents put their child to bed by telling hilariously different accounts of how they first met. The play is presented through special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.

The curtain opens on the Sam J. Frankino Stage in the Pat and Janet O'Brien Center for the Performing Arts at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5. There is no charge for NDCL students with their IDs. All others may purchase tickets at the box office 30 minutes before each performance. There will be no advance sales.

While Wings is truly a student-directed production, directors receive limited support from Performing Arts Department Chairperson Ms. Shirley Ivancic Stall, directing and technical advice; science teacher Miss Melissa Parey, production coordination; and Mr. Sean Cahill '08, production assistance
