Mrs. Molly Schneider has been named one of 53 teachers in the entire country—and the only one from Ohio—to win the prestigious and highly competitive James Madison Foundation Memorial Fellowship.
Madison Memorial Fellowships recognize promising and distinguished teachers by enhancing their knowledge of the origins and development of American constitutional government so that they can take the lead in educating secondary school students about our nation’s constitutional heritage.
Mrs. Schneider's Madison Fellowship includes a stipend of $24,000 to be used toward an advanced degree focused on the history and principles of the United States Constitution. She and other fellows will also participate next summer in a four-week institute on the U.S. Constitution at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
In addition to classroom study, the institute will feature occasional trips to sites associated with the Constitution, including Mount Vernon, Montpelier, Monticello, and Arlington National Cemetery. The program often includes a private meeting with a sitting Supreme Court Justice.
