Campus Ministry shares 20th Kairos retreat

ON FIRE WITH FAITH: Participants in NDCL's 20th Kairos retreat share a lighter moment
as they wrap up their experience of faith and friendship last month.

In early November, 50 students and seven staff members gathered at Hiram House Camp in Moreland Hills for a milestone event in the history of NDCL Campus Ministry: our 20th Kairos retreat.

Kairos, an optional three-night retreat offered to juniors and seniors, began at NDCL in 2010-2011. Since its inception, about 1,000 juniors and seniors have shared in this grace-filled experience of deepened relationships with God and each other.

"On Kairos, students share personal witnesses of faith, bond with each other, and, most importantly, experience God in a new way as they grow in their own faith," said Campus Minister Miss Sarah Reed. "Students come back with a new fire for their faith and a joy that radiates throughout the school."

Miss Reed noted that many Kairos retreatants come to Annunciation Chapel every Thursday during Lion Time to share in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with Chaplain Father James Caddy.

“Kairos has helped me grow and learn more about myself, others, and most importantly, Jesus Christ,” explained senior Dan Liberatore.

Classmate Makayla White agrees.

"Being alongside my friends during Kairos #20 helped me to realize the importance of sacramental grace in my relationship with God and inspired me to become Catholic,” Makayla said.
