Slider scores big during surprise visit

Slider, the mascot of the Cleveland Indians, was a big hit with students and staff when he made a surprise visit to campus on Friday morning to promote Lions Day at Progressive Field on Saturday, May 14.

This first-ever community event for NDCL and NDES students, families, friends, staff, and alumni will feature a t-shirt giveaway, a pre-game on-field parade, and chances to hold the finish line for the popular "hot dog race" and to steal second base during the seventh inning.

Online bidding is open now for for VIP batting practice viewing as well as the once-in-a-lifetime chance to be the Indians' bat kid.
