Wings takes flight on NDCL stage this weekend
Students will move into the director's chair this weekend as NDCL's Performing Arts Department presents Wings 2021, our annual production of student-directed one-act plays.
Senior Sadie Judd, director, and classmate Madison Rogers, assistant director, will lead the production of Don't Fear the Reaper, a 45-minute comedy that follows a day in the life of the Grim Reaper—the day he gets fired for sending people to the wrong after-life.
The cast includes includes senior Rylee Yackin; juniors Maddie Kuhlman, Taylor Dawson, Brian Picciuto, Kyle Yates, Tyler Drago, and Keven Ravakhah; sophomores Sofia Thornhill, Caitlin Mann, and Paige Fisher; and freshmen Kaylee Daley and Tuscani Orris.
The curtain opens in the Pat and Janet O'Brien Center for the Performing Arts at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1. There is no charge for NDCL students with their IDs. Admission for all others is $8.00, payable at the box office 30 minutes before each performance. There will be no advance sales.
While Wings is truly a student-directed production, directors receive limited support from Performing Arts Department Chairperson Ms. Shirley Ivancic Stall and Student Information System Director Miss Stefani Rose '98, who serve as moderators and technical advisers.
Don't Fear the Reaper comes to NDCL's Sam J. Frankino Stage through special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing, Woodstock, Illinois. We are especially grateful to the Jane Monreal Family for sponsoring our production of Wings.
