Students achieve at high levels in first semester

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and their impact on school life, NDCL students excelled in their studies during the first semester of this academic year.

In a video presentation to the NDCL community, Principal Mr. Joseph A. Waler shared our students' outstanding academic  achievement as reflected by their semester grades.

According to first-semester grade reports, 34% of our students earned First Honors (4.00 GPA and above), 34% earned Second Honors (3.50 - 3.99 GPA), and 10% earned a place on the Merit Roll (3.25 - 3.49 GPA).

"Since last March, school life has been significantly impacted by the pandemic and the health protocols that seek to contain it, especially the relentless cycle of 14-day quarantines we experienced in the first semester," explained Mr. Waler.  "While COVID-19 could have easily derailed students' academic progress, they and their teachers rose to the challenge to continue NDCL's tradition of academic excellence."

"Our ability to provide live-streamed instruction in nearly every class helped students stay connected, even when they were unable to come to school," he added. "Our success has truly been a team effort by students, educators, and families that all of us can celebrate."
