Our school community marked the culmination of Respect Life Month with prayer, learning, and action to celebrate the precious gift of life.
Led by Director of Campus Ministry Miss Halle McKeon and Director Student Leadership Mr. Ben Lozar '09, we focused on a different life issue each day, including abortion, the death penalty, human trafficking, and racism. Our video announcements featured statistics as well as references to Catholic social teaching as reflected in the documents of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
The week included our students' participation in the Mass for Life at Saint John Cathedral as well as a special period of Eucharistic adoration in NDCL's Annunciation Chapel.
We linked our learning and prayer to practical action that promotes life by donating 20 baby carriers to Zelie's Home, a community of support for mothers and their children.
