PATRIOTIC PRAYER: During Wednesday's Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the NDCL community blesses Food Service Director Mr. Jay Cabatingan, who will soon be granted U.S. citizenship.
Immaculate Conception feast abounds with blessings
Our all-school Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 8 featured a trifecta of blessings as we celebrated the national feast day of the United States, the feast day of the U.S. province of our Sisters of Notre Dame, and the U.S. citizenship of Food Service Director Mr. Jay Cabatingan
Earlier in the week, Mr. Cabatingan, who was born the Philippines, passed his citizenship test. He will take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States and become a U.S. citizen in the coming weeks.
Near the end of Wednesday's Mass, our entire community joined in a prayer of blessing over Mr. Cabatingan. To mark this special day for him and all U.S. Catholics, all students and staff wore patriotic masks for Mass.
