Transforming the world—one muddy boot at a time! With boots full of mud to prove it, this week members of our Conservation Club did their part to complete NDCL's erosion project by planting trees that will help stabilize the stream banks. The project, which involved installing a staircase of gigantic boulders in the stream just north of Lion Stadium to slow erosion, was partially funded with a matching grant from the Ohio EPA. The EPA also certified the project's positive environmental impact. Club members who braved the deep, slippery mud on Wednesday afternoon included seniors Liz Keherly, Sophia Andreano, Abigail Martin Kosier, and Brandon Preseren; junior Lydia Perlman; and freshmen Riley McCarthy, Evan Saenz, Elaine Hammerhofer, and Claire Daugherty. Science teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Ford advises the Conservation Club. |
