NDCL, NDES receive $200,000 in Ohio safety grants
Last week Governor Mike DeWine announced that Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and Notre Dame Elementary will each receive $100,000—the maximum amount allowable—in the latest round of awards by Ohio's K-12 School Safety Grant Program.
The grant program has distributed $173 million for physical safety and security upgrades to school facilities throughout the state.
“Our Board of Directors, through the work of its Buildings and Grounds Committee, constantly seeks to align resources to improve campus and classroom facilities," commented Notre Dame Schools President Dr. Michael Bates.
"We are grateful to Governor DeWine and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission for supporting our continual efforts to improve the safety and security of our facilities. We applied for these grants last fall, looking to enhance safety features of both schools. The timing of these grants helps us move forward with our plans," Dr. Bates added.
