Labre Ministry marks 200th trip to share food, friendship
Last week NDCL's Labre Ministry marked its 200th consecutive weekly visit to share food and friendship with the poor and homeless.

Begun in 2019 at the suggestion of Mr. Phil Fogarty '76, our Labre Ministry connects our students with their brothers and sisters of Cleveland's East Side in weekly visits on Tuesday afternoons. Our consistent presence each week has enabled our students to develop ongoing personal relationships with the adults and children we meet each week.

"Labre is undoubtedly the most popular and impactful service ministry we sponsor," commented Director of Campus Ministry Miss Halle McKeon. "Our students connect so genuinely with the people they meet. We are not just dropping off food and clothing. We really get to know the people we serve, and they get to know us—often by name."

"It is truly an experience of solidarity for everyone involved," Miss McKeon added.

NDCL's Labre Ministry takes its name and inspiration from Saint Benedict Joseph Labre, patron saint of the homeless.
