We are Off to a Fantastic Start!

NDCL opened our doors on Monday, 8.19.24 to nearly 700 students excited and ready to enter into a brand-new chapter at NDCL. This year's ninth graders come from thirty-six different elementary and middle schools across Lake County, Geauga County, and Cuyahoga County. Mrs. Jodie Ricci, NDCL Principal, kicked off the year with a presentation focused on human dignity, an educational principle inspired by the Sisters of Notre Dame. "This year, our NDCL community will focus on honoring the dignity of each person as an image of God. Recognizing that each of us is valued and irreplaceable, we will work to strengthen dialogue skills and engage in spiritual exercises to reinforce our shared commitment to human dignity. It is important work, and it is mighty work, and we are looking forward to seeing our students live out this principle each and every day," Mrs. Ricci said.

On the first two days of school, students met their new teachers and participated in grade-level orientation sessions with administrators, counselors, campus ministers, and student leaders. Throughout the week, NDCL faculty, staff, and the SAB (student activities board) led activities to kick off this year's theme: Together in God's Goodness. We are looking forward to a great year together!
