NDCL welcomes new associate athletic director

Mr. Nick Carillon joined our community as NDCL's new associate athletic director just before the start of our "pandemic pause" in November.

A graduate of the University of Akron with a degree in sport management, Mr. Carillon most recently served as the athletic operations coordinator at Woodridge High School in Peninsula. He managed multiple aspects of the Bulldog athletic program, focusing on game-day management.

At the University of Akron, Mr. Carillon directed creative media  for the Zips football team for two years. His responsibilities included social media content development, graphic design, and recruiting support. Zips Head Coach Mr. Tom Arth gave Mr. Carillon rave reviews when NDCL called to check on his references.

"Mr. Carillon brings expertise, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills that are already making a huge difference for our student-athletes and their coaches," commented Athletic Director Mr. Jim Clark. "His experience at the University of Akron and Woodridge enabled him to hit the ground running."

Though he has only been here a few weeks, Mr. Carillon is already impressed with the breadth and depth of NDCL's athletic program.

"I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work with not only a special athletic department but a special school at NDCL," he said. "It has only taken a short amount of time for me to find out that our students, faculty, coaches, and parents expect nothing less than excellence both on and off the court and field."

"I look forward to helping uphold that standard every day," Mr. Carillon stressed.

Mr. Carillon steps into the associate AD role after the departure of Mr. Randy Thomas, who early this school year announced his plans to leave NDCL at the end of November. Mr. Thomas helped guide our athletic program since 2017.
