Out of 11,500 entries from throughout the state, four works by NDCL student artists are among just 300 selected for the 48th Annual Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition in Columbus. NDCL has more works in the show than any other Catholic high school in Ohio

Two photographs by senior Christian Baker, a photograph by sophomore Grace Jaworski, and ceramic pieces by senior Makayla White will be displayed in the prestigious exhibition at the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus from April 22 to May 17. Students will receive Awards of Excellence during the opening ceremony on April 22.

Judges for the competition are professional artists and college professors from all over the country. More than 30 universities and colleges of art will offer scholarships to seniors in the exhibition.

Christian and Grace are students of art teacher Mr. George Yaniga. Makayla is the student of art teacher Miss Claire Raack. Mrs. Mary Ann Sedivy is the chairperson of the NDCL Art Department.

The Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition is dedicated to the educational and artistic advancement of talented young people in the state. The exhibition is open to all of Ohio's 1,112 high schools, both public and private, chartered by the State of Ohio Department of Education.
