NDCL students use the MobileServe app, which logs, tracks, and verifies
service. A start-up guide of how to use the App is available by clicking here.
The following parameters are designed to help students plan out their
service for the school year.
Students must earn:
- A minimum of 20
hours within the acceptable categories is required each year.
- Semester 1: 10
hours must be completed by December 15
- Semester 2: 10
hours must be completed by May 15 (Seniors: May 1)
Students must verify service using at least two of the means presented through MobileServe. One MUST be email verification, the second can be geoverification, signature of the supervisor, or photos of themselves in action. (Students should ensure that they have entered the correct email address and inform the supervisor they will receive an email for verification email from “Team MobileServe”.)
Students are encouraged to find service opportunities that inspire them
to want do more. When submitting the hours in MobileServe, students should find the best descriptive category in the drop down menu.
These categories are:
- NDCL Community
- Broader Community
- Spiritual/Liturgical Involvement
- Works of Mercy (Feed the hungry, Clothe the naked, Visit
the sick, Shelter the homeless)
- Social Justice Causes (Life and Dignity of the Human Person, Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, Solidarity, Care for God’s creation)
Students should participate in a variety of service experiences that take them outside of their comfort level over the course of the high school years. Campus Ministry posts many service opportunities for students to consider. Opportunities for service are promoted on the website, on NDCL Live (morning announcements), and in Theology classes. To see the opportunities currently available click here.
Students should log all service hours they perform in the MobileServe app. We have many ways to recognize students who go above and beyond in their service. (See Service Recognition)
